Market up but lawyers still cautious

The Australian legal services market is beginning to recover from the effects of the global financial crisis. A survey of 35 law firms revealed that a net 550 new employees were hired in the six months from January 2014. The figures show that there is significant movement within the sector, with over 950 leaving and over 1,500 lawyers joining the firms. There were 97 internal partner promotions and 118 lateral appointments
