The Victorian Government’s target for paramedic response times in code one emergencies is 15 minutes in 90% of cases. However, internal data suggest that the actual figures are between 18 and 42 minutes across all of the state’s districts. Ambulance Victoria only releases a statewide average, and claims a rate of 73% for 15 minutes. It is seeking a suppression order in the Federal Court, after the paramedics union vowed to leak the real data to the media as part of an industrial dispute over pay and conditions
