Western Australian (WA) researchers will test the antidepressant Prozac in the treatment of stroke. A small French study found that the drug greatly improved the recovery of patients. WA Department of Health researchers will undertake a trial involving 1,600 patients in Australia and New Zealand. It is thought that Prozac helps nerve cell regeneration and improves speech and cognitive function and limb movement
