A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that in the year to September 2014, some 12.8 per cent of Australians aged 14+ agreed that they would like to holiday in New Zealand at some point in the next two years. This compares with 13.9 per cent in the six months to September 2010. In contrast, the number of Australians who would like to holiday in the US has risen from 15.2 per cent to 18 per cent over the same period

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey, which was carried out in the year to September 2014, has found that almost 46 per cent of the 2,258,000 Australians aged 14+ who are planning to buy a new car in the next four years would
"seriously consider buying a hybrid vehicle". This compares with 43.6% during the same period in 2013. Some 64.2 per cent of Australians who intend to buy a Volvo would seriously consider a hybrid vehicle

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that 15 per cent of Australians aged 18+ drank Champagne or sparkling wine in any given four-week period in the year to September 2014. In contrast, 37 per cent of Australian adults drank beer during an average four weeks, while 42 per cent drank red or white wines. The survey also shows that 31 per cent of Australians who drink Champagne or sparkling wine belong to the affluent AB socio-economic quintile, while 37 per cent are from households with annual income of at least $A250,000

Tubs of joy: Australians still love ice cream

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that 73 per cent of Australian grocery buyers purchased a tub or carton of ice cream at least once in the year to June 2014. The survey also shows that 19 per cent of Australians purchase ice cream in tubs or cartons once a month, while just three per cent do so every week. Some 20 per cent of grocery buyers purchase Bulla ice cream in an average four weeks, followed by Peters (17 per cent) and Streets (12 per cent)

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that the Sydney Swans boast 1.135 million supporters, making it the Australian Football League’s most widely supported team. The survey, which was carried out in the year to June 2014, also shows that the Swans’ 2014 Grand Final opponent Hawthorn has 448,000 supporters. One of the league’s newest teams, Greater Western Sydney, boasts the lowest number of supporters, at just 64,000

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that the Seven Network’s "Million Dollar Minute" game show is becoming more popular. Audience research from Roy Morgan shows that the number of Australians aged +14 who say they "really love to watch" the program rose from 292,000 in the December 2013 quarter to 437,000 in the June 2014 quarter. Meanwhile, 481,000 Australians now "really love to watch" the Nine Network’s rival "Hot Seat"

Iced-coffee drinkers ‘Dare’ to be different

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that 6.8 per cent of Australians aged 14+ consumed coffee-flavoured milk at least once in any given seven-day period during the year to June 2014. Some 4.9 per cent consumed a brand that only offers coffee-flavoured milk, while just 2.8 per cent consumed brands that offer coffee as well as other flavours. Dare is the most popular dedicated iced coffee brand of flavoured milk, with consumption rising from 0.7 per cent of the population in 2009 to 1.8 per cent in 2014

More Australian holiday-makers choosing to cruise

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that 10,699,000 Australians aged 14+ took at least one holiday of at least three nights’ duration in the year to June 2014. Some 4.5 per cent of these people opted for a cruise holiday for their last long trip, compared with just 3.2 per cent in the year to June 2011. The South Pacific was the most popular cruise destination in the year to June 2014, while 33.4 per cent of Australians who opted for a cruise holiday were in the 50-64 age group and 37.5 per cent were aged 65+
