Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she is optimistic of securing a majority in parliament, but says she will wait for all votes to be counted. With 76 per cent of votes having being counted as of 26 November, Labor had secured 43 seats, while the Liberal National Party is on 35 seats. A further 12 seats are in doubt. Palaszczuk contends her policies on education, jobs and health were well received by Queenslanders. However, others would take the view that it was her stance against One Nation and a proposed federal loan to Adani that helped her to get Greens preferences in the south-east of Queensland, while the LNP lost votes to One Nation in regional Queensland.
