US rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers has weighed into the debate regarding the New South Wales Government’s new regulations for live music festivals. The government has identified 14 music festivals that will not be granted a licence by the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority unless they prepare a safety management plan. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ frontman Anthony Kiedis and bassist Michael Balzary told the audience at a concert in Geelong that the NSW reforms are "outlandish" and "stupid".
