Armour Energy to target LNG markets with AEP

Australian-listed Armour Energy will undertake a shale exploration program in the Northern Territory’s McArthur Basin in partnership with American Energy Partners (AEP). Armour shareholders approved the farm-in agreement in late October 2015, while AEP plans to acquire a 13.62 per cent stake in Armour at $A0.25 per share. Armour recently spurned a $A61m takeover offer from WestSide, a subsidiary of China-based Landbridge.

Haoma Mining protects itself from Atlas Iron’s woes

Australian-listed Haoma Mining has put a caveat on two of Atlas Iron’s iron ore tenements in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Haoma holds the exploration rights for non-iron ore minerals, and chairman Gary Morgan says the group wanted to protect its interests should Atlas sell the tenements. Shares in Atlas Iron were placed in a trading halt in early April 2015, pending a review of its operations
