A multi-mode Morgan Poll on Federal voting intention has found that support for the Coalition on a two-party preferred basis has risen by two per cent to 46.5 per cent. The poll, which was carried out on the weekends of 22-23 and 29-30 November 2014, also shows that support for the Australian Labor Party has fallen by two per cent to 53.5 per cent. A national Fairfax/Ipsos poll shows that 24 per cent of voters prefer Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull as Liberal leader, ahead of Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop. The poll, which was carried out from 30 October to 1 November 2014, found that Turnbull is also the preferred Liberal leader for 48 per cent of Australian Labor Party supporters.
