The Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining & Energy Union has launched legal action against John Holland and CPB. The CFMMEU alleges that contractors working for them on the $700 million Canberra light rail project have underpaid staff by over $700,000, and because John Holland and CPB are in charge of the project, they are responsible for the alleged underpayments. The Australian Building & Construction Commission audited the pay records of WorkPac, one of the contractors involved in the project, and claimed to have found nothing wrong. However, the CFMMEU states this was because it did not interview any of the workers on the project.
