A leaked report from the New South Wales Department of Education suggests that population growth will necessitate an investment of $A7 billion in the state’s education system. More than 220 new primary and secondary schools will need to be built by 2036. The number of primary school students is forecast to rise from 625,600 in 2011 to 818,200 in 2036
