Electorate polling is still the best way to measure voters’ intentions

The merits of electorate polling have come under scrutiny in the wake of the results of the "Super Saturday" election. Although the published polls may not have got the actual margins correct in some instances, they did correctly predict all the winning candidates. Although there is no doubt that polling in individual electorates is more difficult than polls that are conducted on an Australian-wide basis, electorate polls remain the best way of assessing voter intentions.
