The Australian Communications & Media Authority has found that Foxtel breached the subscription broadcast code of practice during its live coverage of an AFL match in April. The pay-TV group had broadcast a promotion from a wagering partner, in breach of rules introduced in 2018 which prohibit broadcasters from showing gambling advertisements or promoting betting odds during a live sports broadcast. Foxtel had self-reported the incident to ACMA following a complaint from a viewer.
