A Roy Morgan Single Source survey, which was carried out in the year to December 2014, has found that 50 per cent of Australian parents with children under the age of 16 in the home said they try to buy additive-free food. This compared with 45 per cent in 2010. The survey also shows that 54 per cent of parents in the top AB socio-economic quintile agree that "I try to buy additive-free food", as do 52 per cent of those in the C quintile. However, just 40 per cent of parents in the lowest FG quintile say they try to avoid buying food with additives

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that 12 per cent of Australian households have a swimming pool. The survey, which was carried out in the year to December 2014, also shows that 18 per cent of households in Perth have their own swimming pool, while pool ownership in Sydney (16%) and Brisbane (15%) is also above the national average. Meanwhile, just over 15% of Australian households with kids aged 6-11 have a pool, a figure that jumps to just over 20% for homes with children aged 12-15

A special SMS Morgan Poll on State voting intention has found that support for the New South Wales Coalition on a two-party preferred basis has risen by 0.5 per cent to 56 per cent. The poll, which was carried out from 20-23 March 2015, also shows that support for the Australian Labor Party has fallen by 0.5 per cent to 44 per cent. Roy Morgan Research executive chairman Gary Morgan says all signs points to a comfortable victory for the Coalition on 28 March, despite the Coalition’s losses in recent state elections in Queensland and Victoria

A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that 56.8 per cent of Australians aged 14+ visited a cafe in an average three-month period in the year to December 2014, compared with 53.7 per cent in 2010. The survey also shows that 38.4 per cent of the population bought fresh coffee in any given four weeks in 2014, up from 36.3 per cent in 2010. Meanwhile, 63.3 per cent of Melburnians pay at least one visit to a cafe for coffee or tea in an average three months, ahead of Hobart residents (62.7 per cent) and Sydneysiders (61 per cent)

A multi-mode Morgan Poll on Federal voting intention has found that support for the Coalition on a two-party preferred basis has fallen by 2.5 per cent to 44 per cent. The poll, which was carried out on the weekends of 14-15 and 21-22 March 2015, also shows that support for the Australian Labor Party has risen by 2.5 per cent to 56 per cent. A Roy Morgan Single Source survey has found that almost one million Australians aged 14+ currently have a HTC smartphone as their main mobile phone. The survey, which was carried out in the year to December 2014, also shows that 55 per cent of HTC smartphone owners use the Telstra network, while 18 per cent use Optus and 14 per cent are with Vodafone. Roy Morgan Research’s Tim Martin notes that 28 per cent of HTC owners are over the age of 50, but 65 per cent of current smartphone users who intend to buy a HTC within the next six months are less than 35 years old

The latest Fairfax Media-Ipsos poll shows that the New South Wales (NSW) Coalition has 54 per cent support on a two-party preferred basis, compared with 46 per cent for the Australian Labor Party. The poll, which was carried out from 19-21 March 2015, also shows that 48 per cent of NSW electors support the proposed partial sale of the state’s electricity network, while 47 per cent are against it. However, 61 per cent oppose the sale unless the proceeds are invested in new infrastructure projects

The ANZ-Roy Morgan New Zealand Consumer Confidence Index has risen from 124.0 in February 2015 to 124.6 in March. Stripping out the seasonal noise, the index showed a three point lift. The Current Conditions Index rose from 123.0 to 123.7, which is still consistent with solid rates of consumer spending, while the Future Conditions Index nudged up from 124.6 to 125.3, reinforcing the optimistic tone
